This new to B.C., natural and organic, food store is located in the new Park Royal Village, just west of Park Royal in the old movie theatre location.

Whole Foods, who just celebrated 25 years in business, started in Austin Texas in 1980 and now has 168 stores in North America and the UK. Park Royal is the first store in B.C. and second in Canada.

"Whole food's obtains their products locally and from all over the world, often from small, uniquely dedicated food artisans. They strive to offer the highest quality, least processed, most flavorful and naturally preserved foods. Why? Because food in its purest state-unadulterated by artificial additives, sweeteners, colorings and preservatives-is the best tasting and most nutritious food available."

This 40,000sq.ft tenant space is highlighted using egg shaped metal halide pendant fixtures from Holophane, compact fluorescent lighting from Lithonia, linear lighting from Peerless, track lighting from Intense and curved tracks from Juno complete with custom blown glass shades; all designed to (quote) "promote the high standards that permeates all aspects of our company experience to the shopper".

The mechanical specifications provided a large challenge for our crews, from exhaust fans, roof top units, make-up air units, freezers and air doors, to the "rows" of refrigeration cases, all with specific requirements including provisions for computer control.
